The Rock ‘n’ Roll Montreal Marathon race weekend was held in unseasonably hot conditions on the weekend.

The marathon was cancelled because of the heat and humidity, an announcement made a few days ahead of race day, and the half-marathon, 10K and 5K went ahead as planned. An estimated 20,000 runners from 50 countries ran in one, or multiple events, on Saturday or Sunday.

Check out a selection from the race’s photo gallery that gives a visual of the gruelling conditions. Understandably, spray stations were a big hit on course.
