The NACAC region comprises North America, Central America and the Caribbean. One of the standouts to watch this weekend is 17-year-old Briana Williams, who ran a 10.94s 100m and shattered the Jamaican national record, the world U18 and the Jamaian U20 record two weeks ago at the Jamaican senior national championships. Williams broke Candace Hill’s record of 10.98, set in 2015. The runner told MileSplit post-race that she was dealing with a fever when she broke the world record and wouldn’t be competing in the following day’s 200m competition.

Williams has already made a big statement, easily taking the win in the 100m in 11.11, well ahead of second place Joella Kenjel Lloyd in 11.43.
