Design, display and battery life

The Forerunner 165 boasts a bright 1.2-inch AMOLED display, ensuring easy visibility in any weather and even in direct sunlight. Its lightweight polymer case and comfortable sleek wrist feel make it a perfect companion for long runs or daily wear.

Sharing technology with the Garmin Vivoactive 5, the battery life and case size are also similar in the new Forerunner 165, as well as the display. The Forerunner 165 has a battery life of up to 11 days in smartwatch mode and up to 19 hours in GPS mode. Whether you’re tackling back-to-back long training sessions or wearing it as an everyday multisport accessory, this watch has the battery life to keep up with a fast-paced active lifestyle. It also draws comparisons to its sibling, the Forerunner 265, with its screen size just a little smaller.

Run tracking

When training, it’s essential to have accurate pace, distance, and wrist-based heart rate data to ensure you are training effectively. The Forerunner 165 provides all of that and more, allowing you to clearly track your progress and improvements over time.

Another useful feature is the training effect widget, which shows how each run impacts your fitness level and helps you understand the main benefits of each workout. Additionally, the recovery time feature helps gauge how each workout affects your body and determines the optimal amount of time needed before your next high-intensity session.

Smart features

This watch isn’t just about tracking your runs; it’s also equipped with smart features to keep you connected. Tap-to-pay functionality, phone notifications and crash detection add convenience and safety to workouts. Plus, access the Connect IQ Store for even more customization options.

The Forerunner 165 monitors your health and fitness with a heart rate sensor, pulse oximeter and tracking for 25 other activities. The watch will give you insights into sleep quality, recovery, and even menstrual cycles. The Forerunner 165 Music also has built-in music storage, allowing you to load up to 500 songs from Spotify, Deezer, or Amazon Music directly to your watch.
