Course records fall at every distance at Maritime Race Weekend
Course records in the 5K, 10K, half-marathon and marathon all go down on Friday and Saturday at Maritime Race Weekend
With cash on the line, a course record in each distance fell on Friday and Saturday at Maritime Race Weekend.
With a course record falling in the opening event in the sunset 5K, new marks continued to be set through Saturday including both the men’s and women’s CRs in the half-marathon and marathon. The pirate-themed race weekend is held annually in Eastern Passage, N.S., just outside of Halifax.
James Murphy and Emily Hamilton won the longest of Maritime Race Weekend’s events, clocking 2:37:56 and 3:02:02, taking a combined 21 minutes off the previous course records, which dated as far back as 2014. Both winners won $500 for the win, plus an additional $100 for the course record.
