So you’ve spent the winter gearing up the race against the cream-of-the-crop at the 2017 Boston Marathon. If you’re among the 30,000 runners who trained to be fit for the start line in the quaint New England town of Hopkinton, just outside of Boston, congratulate yourself for qualifying to run North America’s most sought after race. Hammering out a 42.2K on a course as hilly as the Boston Marathon is no easy feat. To those Canadian runners who made the trip to race in Boston this year, congratulations. After the race though, be sure to celebrate. No matter your style, we have a recommendation to suit your tastes. Cheers!

The Dive

Plough and Stars: If you’re just looking to just relax and enjoy your weekend in Boston at a casual venue, this fits that vibe. The Plough and Stars is located in Cambridge and is known for having solid pub food, live music and it’s not stingy when it comes to offerings on tap.

The Freshest Catch From the Ocean

Row 34: If you ran the marathon specifically so you could sample some tastes of the ocean post-race, Row 34 should be top on your list. We’re talking a daily featured catch (the whole fish!), oysters, mussels and deviled crab toast. No matter what you choose, we’ll just go ahead and say it’s well earned. Hint: You’ll have to wander a little if you’re located closer to the marathon festivities. If that’s the case, consider Row 34’s sister restaurant: Island Creek Oyster, which is more central.

The Fine Dining Spot

Top of The Hub Restaurant and Lounge: Located at the top of the Prudential Tower, this gem of a fine dining restaurant boasts that it offers New England’s best view. You ran hard, raise a glass now and enjoy a bird’s eye scene of Massachusetts. If you’re not sold on the towering views, the menu should have you drooling after running a punishing 42.2K. Think pan-seared swordfish, steamed lobster and scallops in curry butter.

The Best Boston-Themed Pint

Sólás Irish Pub: This friendly Irish pub is located a mere steps away from the finish line. Chances are that after the marathon grind and the rude elevation of Heartbreak Hill, you’ll be craving your favourite comfort food. Well, Sólás has exactly that. Let’s be real: if you ran a marathon, you deserve a beer. More than one brewery has created a Boston-specific beer for the occasion. Harpoon Brewery is among them. If their IPA meets your approval, consider their newest creation in partnership with New Balance: This Is Boston is a brown session ale created specifically for locals and vistors alike to clink glasses in appreciation for this east coast city. A pint of this beer is sold only at the brewery itself and at this pub location.

The Best Spot to Sport Boston Bling

Boston Marathon Mile 27 is the official party of the Boston Marathon. For many runners, running Boston is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you brought an army of spectators with you, it should be noted that this is a family-friendly party.  You ran hard, now this is your chance to a) chat to others who just experienced the course with you and b) enjoy some social time while checking out Fenway Park.
