The library has been an iconic city landmark since it was built in the early 1960s. In 2004, the city made plans to construct a more accessible new library in the Downtown East Village, which has been open since 2018.
The Calgary Marathon continues to attract runners from across the world while staying true to its western roots. At this year’s festivities, organizers expect entry numbers to return to their pre-pandemic highs of 8,000+.
Participants in the 2023 events can look for new exciting new developments at the 2023 race, including a memorable ‘victory lap’ on race day, the post-race party of the decade with music, dancing, beer and food trucks, and the last chance to run in the 50K ultra on its 10th anniversary, before it retires.
Registration for the 2023 race is now open, with distances for all runners ranging from a five-kilometre run/walk to a 50K ultramarathon. For more information about the 2023 Servus Calgary Marathon and to register, check out their website.
