Comedian Eddie Izzard completed a double marathon today in South Africa to cap off his 27 marathons in 27 days challenge in support of the charity.

The 54-year-old ran 27 marathons to match each year that former South African president Nelson Mandela served in prison and finished at Mandela’s statue in Johannesburg this afternoon. He was running in support of Sport Relief, a charity that helps disadvantaged kids around the world.

“It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” Izzard told the BBC after he reached the statue, which marked the finish line. “Thank you to everyone who has donated and don’t do this at home.”

The final stretch was made even tougher as the English comedian had to climb a set of stairs to make it to the finish line. As any marathon runner would know, that’s a nightmare scenario at the end of a race, let alone a double marathon.

Earlier in the trip, Izzard missed a day due to medical reasons meaning he would have to double up one day to ensure he hit his initial goal. That double day ended up coming on Sunday.

He was accompanied by Dr. Gary throughout the trip and received support from astronaut Tim Peake and marathon runner Paula Radcliffe, among others.

More details on his run can be found here.
