HYROX is coming to Canada
The global fitness and running craze is arriving in Toronto on October 5

HYROX, the globally renowned fitness race phenomenon, is finally coming to Canada. With its first event scheduled for Oct. 5 at Toronto’s Enercare Centre, runners and gym-goers alike are gearing up to put their strength and endurance to the test.
What is HYROX?
HYROX is a fitness race that combines running with functional fitness, starting with a 1 km run, followed by functional fitness challenges such as sandbag lunges, farmer’s carries or wall balls, repeated eight times. The race is designed to be accessible to everyone, offering four racing categories to choose from: Individual, Individual Pro (for experienced racers), Doubles (done with a partner) and Relay Teams.

The format of the event is as follows:
1 km run
1 km Ski Erg
1k m run
50-metre sled push
1 km run
50-metre sled pull
1 km run
80m burpee broad jump
1 km run
1 km row
1 km run
200m kettlebell farmer’s carry
1 km run
100m sandbag lunges
1 km run
75 or 100 wall balls
Participants end up running a total of 8 km throughout the event, giving runners a distinct advantage over the competition.

A global event
One of the unique aspects of the HYROX competition is that participants get the chance to compete against people from all over the world. All participants wear a timing chip and receive official finishing times, with comparable results through HYROX’s global rankings across all events.
The race is open to individuals of all athletic abilities, with different race categories tailored to suit diverse fitness levels.
