Is it a rock concert, or the Popular Brooklyn Half?
NYRR races are outrageously popular and Brooklyn in particular sells out notoriously fast
They don’t call it the Popular Brooklyn Half for nothing. Popular is a bank and the race’s title sponsor since 2018, but the 21.1K race through Manhattan’s cool neighbour to the southeast, which takes place this year on Saturday, May 18, is actually in such high demand that it sells out within minutes every year. The NYRR-organized race is the largest half-marathon in the US, with more than 25,000 finishers in 2018.

The race starts near the Brooklyn Museum on the edge of Prospect Park and finishes at the famous amusement park at Coney Island.
According to the race website, there are still charity spots remaining. Also, there are two other NYRR-hosted half-marathons remaining in New York City this year: the United Airlines NYC Half on Sunday, March 17 (which starts in Brooklyn and ends in Manhattan) and the NYRR Staten Island Half on Sunday, October 13. The Fred Lebow Manhattan Half took place on January 20.
