Record 15 meets revealed on 2024 Diamond League schedule
There is a lot to look forward to in the 2024 track and field season, with the Olympics on the horizon

This morning, the Wanda Diamond League made an exciting announcement, revealing that they are gearing up for their 15th season in 2024 with a remarkable total of 15 track meets. While the 2024 track and field season may seem far away, it promises to be one of the most unforgettable seasons yet, with the Paris Olympics right in the heart of it. Canada’s top Olympic hopefuls will be gracing the Diamond League circuit, using it as a vital stepping stone in their preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games.

The 2024 Diamond League season begins in April, with two thrilling meets in China. Last year, despite the initial plan for 15 meets, the Shanghai stop on the circuit had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
For North American track and field enthusiasts, the iconic Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore., returns to its traditional late May slot after serving as the Diamond League final this year. Several Team Canada athletes had outstanding performances in the Diamond League in 2023, winning three medals at the final. Andre De Grasse made history in Eugene by becoming the first Canadian track athlete to win a Diamond League final title, while world championship medalists Marco Arop and Sarah Mitton earned silver in their respective events.
The 2024 Diamond League season will extend into mid-September, featuring two substantial breaks to accommodate every nation’s national championships in June. Then, the highly anticipated 2024 Paris Olympics Games will begin on July 26.
Brussels will host the Diamond League final on Sept. 13-14, marking the 11th time the city has hosted the last meet of the season (but the first since 2019).
