Runners will feel like superheroes with the 2016 Calgary Marathon finisher medals
The 2016 Calgary Marathon revealed its race weekend medals three weeks out from one of Western Canada's largest road running events.

The Calgary Marathon revealed its race day bling three weeks out from the event at the St. Patrick’s Fun Run on Saturday (the run is named after St. Patrick’s Island, not the Irish holiday). Calgary race weekend, which includes a 50K, marathon, half-marathon, 10K and 5K, will have superhero-themed medals with comic book-like designs.
The medals are just as awesome as the Star Wars race weekend marathon medals. See photos here.
The race medals also double as belt buckles, appropriate for the summer’s Calgary Stampede.
The May 29 event is set to be one of western Canada’s largest road race events and the event’s half-marathon will act as the Canadian championships. Race weekend begins on May 26 with the expo.

Race officials announced that the Calgary Marathon will have a 150K ultra in 2017 to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary. See details of that race announcement.

Printed on each medal are the words and phrases “crushed it,” “PB,” “finisher,” and “wow,” among other motivational phrases that will have runners and walkers feeling good after their respective races. Regardless of your performance, chances are that these medals will keep finishers in high spirits.
