2000 CIS XC Rookie of the Year Sasha Gollish to race again for U of T
The 2016 Canadian senior women's cross-country champion immediately becomes a national contender for Toronto
Sasha Gollish just made the University of Toronto women’s cross-country team that much better by opting to use her final year of U Sports eligibility in 2017.
Gollish, 35, was the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Cross-Country Rookie of the Year in 2000. (The CIS is now known as U Sports.) She then notably competed for the University of Toronto cross-country teams in 2001 and 2009, winning team silver on both occasions, according to her blog.
She’s expected to race at the Ontario University Athletics Cross-Country Championships, the final event before nationals, on Saturday, her first cross-country race of the season. The Toronto Varsity Blues are currently ranked second in Canada among women’s teams. Gollish confirmed the news via Twitter on Friday backed by a University of Toronto press release.

Gollish is coming off a victory at the 2017 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Jose Half-Marathon and is the reigning Canadian senior women’s cross-country champion. The Toronto resident is also the 2017 North American, Central American and Carribean cross-country champion.
