Famed triathlon sisters Sylvia and Patricia Puntous drew loud cheers from the crowds at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Montreal Half-Marathon on Sunday when they crossed the finish line together. The identical twins were once two of the most recognizable women in triathlon during Ironman’s early days, with Sylvia winning the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii twice (1983 and 1984), both times narrowly edging out Patricia who took second. On Sunday, they completed the half-marathon in identical times of 1:37:24 side by side, in matching outfits, winning the 55-to-59 age categories and placing as the 40th women overall.
