Virgil Abloh, the fashion designer behind Italian streetwear brand Off-White, showed a track and field spike at Paris Fashion Week.

The shoe was featured in his track and field inspired Spring/Summer 2019 show. Abloh is creating a line for an Off-White x Nike collaboration, and this shoe is one of the main products.

The women’s shoe blends elements of the Zoomfly and Vaporfly, but with track spikes on the bottom and a vintage upper that resembles Nike circa 1970. It appears to be called the Nike Vaporstreet, but not much else is known about the shoe.

Nike already makes a similar men’s shoe, the React Vapor Street Flyknit. Nike says, “The Nike React Vapor Street Flyknit Men’s Shoe takes the race-ready Flyknit from the Vaporfly Elite, and combines it with ridiculously responsive Nike React cushioning underfoot. The result is a lifestyle shoe with a fast look and plush, resilient cushioning that’s optimised for everyday wear.” The men’s shoe has a very different upper and doesn’t include the spike plate on the bottom.

The shoe is part of his show titled, “Track and Field.” Invitations were sent out on a race bib and the motto of the collection is, “Race Yourself.” Celebrities are already going crazy over the collection, supermodel Bella Hadid featured the shoe in her Instagram story today.

This shoe likely won’t become a spike for track and field elites, but running has certainly made a big impression on the fashion world.
