The 50 mile
The men’s and overall winner was local athlete John Dean in 8:18:05. Dean took the lead late in the race after a smart build, and was followed by two Calgary-based athletes. Kevin Biggs took 2nd in 8:24:13, and Joren Titus rounded out the podium in 8:32:11.

Edmonton’s Priscilla Forgie was sixth place overall and the first woman in her Squamish 50-mile debut, with an incredibly fast time of 8:44:30. Forgie also won the Near Death Marathon outright earlier this summer and set a new overall course record there. Forgie was followed by Vancouver’s Kat Drew, who ran 9:08:10, and North Vancouver’s Sam Drove in 9:48:36.

The 50K
Squamish’s Nick Elson took first place in 4:48:05, besting a course record of 4:55:08 held by Canmore’s Adam Campbell since 2014. Elson is well-acquainted with the Squamish 50 trails and finished second in the 50-mile race in 2021. He was followed by North Van’s Joshua Potvin in 5:11:46 and Squamish local Brendan Urlocker in 5:24:40.

Renowned ultrarunner Jenny Quilty of Abbotsford, B.C., was the first woman and sixth overall in 5:44:20. She was followed by Squamish’s Alicia Woodside in 6:06:42 and fellow local Heather Gallagher in 6:08:53.
And in a commanding win at the 50km distance, the women’s winner of the 2022 Squamish 50 is Jenny Quilty in 5:44:20. Jenny is no stranger to our races, as she also happens to be the course record holder for our 50/50 races. Congrats Jenny!

The 50/50
Always an exciting and incredibly tough event, participants in the 50/50 run the 50-miler followed by the 50K on back-to-back days. This year’s top finisher was Dean (who also won the 50-miler), with a combined time of 14:06:14. He was followed by Simon Widmann of Surrey in 14:21:12, and Washington’s John Maxwell in 15:20:54, who was third male but fourth overall.

The third place overall finisher and first female was 50-mile winner Forgie, who also smashed Quilty’s previous 50/50 course record in a time of 15:13:00.
Priscilla Forgie not only won the 50 mile race yesterday, but she also crushed Jenny Quilty’s 50/50 previous course record out of the park by an incredible 47 minutes today, with a combined race time of 15:13:00 for the 50 Mile and 50km. pic.twitter.com/0HyFiMskqf
