Banque Scotia 21K de Montreal race recap
Montreal was a busy site today with runners crowding to the start of the Banque Scotia 21K de Montreal this morning.
The half-marathon ran just past 10:00 a.m. this morning in cool and overcast weather. Eric Gillis ran a speedy race coming first in the men’s race. He ran a 1:05:27. In second place was Terence Attema nearly a minute behind Gillis running a time of 1:06:36. David Le Porho placed third in 1:06:51.
Bianca Premont was the star among the women today. She ran 1:20:35. Following her was Pia Nehme (1:21:33) and Manon Letourneau placed third clocking 1:21:43. For full results, click here.
The Banque Scotia 21K de Montreal course is a popular one and a great way to get to see the city. The gun goes off at Parterre on Ste Helene Island. Runners do a loop of the island before making their way to Notre Dame Island where they do a loop before returning.
This year, the race raised just over a million dollars to put towards the charity, Scotiabank Charity Challenge and Team Training.
Here’s some social media shots to give you a glance into what today’s scene looked like.
