BMO Vancouver Marathon adds 8K

The BMO Bank of Montreal Vancouver Marathon added an 8K race this year that attracted 470 runners. The flat 8K course follows the first 4K of the marathon and doubles back. Byron Trajan of Nanaimo, B.C. won the inaugural event in 28:34, while Tessni Carruthers took the women’s title in 32:30. Thomas Ornwenga won the full marathon in 2:15:57, and Mary Akor of Hawthorne, Calif. captured the women’s race in 2:37:52.
