Hit and Run Golf

Runners who like to hit the greens will love this multi-sport phenomenon.

Runners who like to golf now have an option to combine both sports in a new challenge called hit and run golf. This multi-sport phenomenon is entering its fourth year at the Dr. Jay Hit and Run Golf Classic at Angus Glen Golf and Country Club outside of Markham, Ont., on June 15. Running duffers must aim to shoot the lowest golf score in the fastest time possible, carrying a maximum of five clubs and one putter. The total score is the number of shots taken on the 18-hole course, plus the time in minutes to play. Last year’s event winner shot an amazing 83 in just 65 minutes for a total score of 148.

The event raises funds for the Dr. Jay Foundation, which funds the only program in Canada where specifically trained palliative care therapists work with dying children and kids who are about to lose a parent, helping the kids and families deal with the tragedy of death.
