Marathon to honour fallen Mounties

As a tribute to the four RCMP officers killed in Mayerthorpe, Alta. in 2005, a new marathon on June 21 will run between the communities of Mayerthorpe and Whitecourt. The Fallen 4 Relay and Marathon features a four-person relay and a full marathon on a point-to-point course, beginning at the Fallen Four Memorial in downtown Mayerthorpe and finishing 42.2K away in Whitecourt. Organizers have also scheduled a 5K fun run and a kids run the day before the marathon race. Participants can register at www.runningroom.ca.
