My First Race
I've been running for a year now... still haven't entered a race... well until today! I liked the concept of Nike+ Human Race (plus I wanted the cool t-shirt)... hundreds of thousands of runners all over the world will run 10km at the same time... how is that for world unity? Obviously runners around the world are lovers... not haters!
Well… I’ve officially signed-up for my first race! I’m going to run in The Nike+ Human Race 10KM.
For those of you not familiar with this race, it’s the world’s largest race. Hundreds of thousands of runners all over the world will run 10km at the same time… how is that for world unity? Obviously runners around the world are lovers… not haters!
I first learned about this race from my good friend (and avid running partner) Katrina. She ran in The Human Race last year and I’ve been interested in the idea of participating ever since.
Tonight I was on the Running Room website, saw the registration link and thought to myself… I should run in that race (if for no other reason then to get the sweet race t-shirt *joking – well only sort of*)!
If any of you Haligonians are participating in The Human Race, drop me a line so we can run together (or at least start the race together… feel free to leave me in the dust at any point). My best 10km time to date is 58 mins… though with the adrenaline of the race… I hope to shave a couple minutes off that time… regardless of how fast I finish… I’m really looking forward to the experience and would love to run the race with friends!
