Parapan Am Games final day recap
Friday was the final day of athletics wrapping up the track races of the Parapan Am Games. Canadians represented in two of the five events and won three medals for the country.
The most notable race for Canadians was the men’s T54 1,500m. Canadian athlete Alex Dupont won gold with his time of 3:07:61. In second place was also a Team Canada athelte. Joshua Cassidy came in at 3:07:98. Colombia’s Javier Rojas Diaz placed third. His time was 3:08:08.
“I came with confidence mostly because you have to, if you come here expecting to finishing second or third that’s what you will do. So every time I go somewhere I go there thinking, I will win whether it makes sense or not,” said Dupont about his race.
