Rob Krar finishes second at Lake Sonoma 50

Canadian Rob Krar, based in Flagstaff, Ariz., finished a close second to Zach Miller of Columbia, Pa., in the Lake Sonoma 50 mile race on Saturday, April 12.

Krar, who is featured on the cover of the Canadian Running Trail Special, finished the 50 mile race in 6:12:14, just over a minute behind Miller, who finished in 6:11:10.

Sage Canaday, who finished third behind Krar on Saturday, set the course record of 6:14:55 in 2013. Miller set the new record of 6:11:10, with all three podium finishers coming in under the previous mark.

Krar had a breakout 2013 season, finishing second at the prestigious Western States 100 and winning The North Face 50 mile. He will race Western States again in June this year.

Emily Harrison, who also lives in Flagstaff, won the women’s race in 7:25:15, a new course record.
