Why Do I Run?

Running gives me time to think... during my run I get perspective on what's worth the battle and what isn't... whatever chemical gets fired through my body when I run... it's wonderful!

There are many reasons why I run… but one thing that really makes a difference in my overall happiness and ability to cope with stress is the way that running makes me feel about myself, my life and helps me to get ready for the busy day and challenges ahead.

I can wake up tired, doubtful and worried but within a couple kilometres of my run I’m energized, positive and confident that everything in life will come together as it’s supposed to. It’s hard to explain the feeling that rushes through your body when you run… you just have to experience it. The runners high is a feeling like no other and improves your mood every time.

All my problems seem more manageable when I run and a lot of the times problems get solved in my head by the time I hit the 5km mark. Running gives me time to think… during my run I get perspective on what’s worth the battle and what isn’t… whatever chemical gets fired through my body when I run… it’s wonderful!
