The XTRAIL Asics trail series is back for a second year with two races that take runners through Quebec’s Eastern Townships. The first event takes place on May 23 at Mont Sutton, near the U.S. border, and includes 10K and 21K races. Runners in the 21K will summit three peaks, cross creeks, and may enjoy some moose sightings. Organizers say 98 per cent of the race in on singletrack trails. The second race in the series also features 10K and 21K events, this time at Mont Orford. The 21K race starts at the bottom of a ski hill and ends up on top, over a wide variety of terrain, including rocks, mud, roots and water crossings. The 10K race has wider tracks and easier terrain, but will still have some challenging hills. To register, visit www.xtrailasics.com.
