Young boy intervenes when heckler insults female runner, story goes viral

A California man took the ultimate walk of shame last week after a young boy put him in his place for insulting a female runner, a story which has since gone viral.

The original post, published on Nov. 18, has been shared over 169,000 times combining for more than 966,000 likes.

Singer Julia Price was running in Santa Monica, Calif., and was interrupted by a nearby man during lunch. The man began yelling “Sexy lady, hey hey hey sexy lady!” at Price before it escalated to profanity.

Before Price was able to confront the man, a young boy named James, walking with his mother and little sister, intervened and remarked, “Hey, that isn’t nice to say to her and she didn’t like you yelling at her. You shouldn’t do that because she is a nice girl and I don’t let anyone say mean things to people. She’s a girl like my sister and I will protect her.”

The man, embarrassed, walked away with his lunch. Price gave James a hug with the young boy adding, “I just wanted to make sure your heart was okay.”
