Balancing trays and dishes: Japan hosts annual waiters race

Japan hosts waiters race where competitors balance trays and glasses over a 300m stretch

Waiters Race
More than 120 competitors tested their ability to sprint while balancing trays and dishes at the Waiters’ Race Japan on Monday.

The race, held in Yokohama, required runners to balance glasses and bottles of water along a 300m course. Remarkably, Kento Sasamoto managed to complete the 300m race in just 49 seconds.

Organizers stated they want to host an international waiters race ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Tipping is not custom in Japan, but if it were, these waiters would be rewarded for their punctuality and balancing ability.
