Video: Watch this 42-year-old Canadian run a beer mile world record

Victoria’s Jim Finlayson knows how to run fast. He also knows how to chuck a beer. The former overall beer mile world record holder recently lowered his own masters (40+) mark, crushing four 5 per cent alcohol brews and 4 laps of the track in a jaw-dropping 5:01.24. Just a couple of years ago, no one had every run sub-5 for the beer mile. Another Canadian, Lewis Kent, currently holds the overall world record in 4:55.8.
