VIDEO: Women’s 1,500m prelims highlights from the Canadian Track Championships
All contenders move on to the women's 1,500m running the preliminary round on Saturday morning at the Canadian Track and Field Championships
All event favourites, including Sheila Reid, Gabriela Stafford and Nicole Sifuentes, advanced to the 1,500m finals at the 2017 Canadian Track and Field Championships.
The top-12 women from two heats of preliminary rounds advanced to Sunday’s final on Saturday morning at the national championships at Terry Fox Facility in Ottawa. The top four in each heat advanced automatically while the next four fastest, based on qualifying time, too move on to the finals where the national champion will be decided.
The women’s 1,500m final is slated for 12:35 p.m. EDT on July 9. Lucia Stafford, the sister of Gabriela, is the youngest of the qualifiers. She was born in 1998.
