Jesus saves… right?

Dear Sweet Baby Jesus, Happy belated Birthday. Sorry you couldn’t make it to this year’s pot luck.

Dear Sweet Baby Jesus,

Happy belated Birthday. Sorry you couldn’t make it to this year’s pot luck. We certainly made the best of it without you. Nana brought your favourite – cheese-puffs. Let’s just say, our cups over-flowed.

Now, I’m not going to hold it against you, considering the whole, um, omnipotence thing, but it might have been nice, had you sent your apologies.

Better still, your help would not have gone astray when I was calling your name during the next morning’s hang-over.  Never mind.  Turn the other cheek, right?

Now, I know my life is already full of miracles – not least of which is this video [stick with it for the good part]. Oh, and the two kids of course…and my husband is simply amazing at turning wine into water. That said, this being 2011 and a whole new year, I have a little wish list. I do hope you’ll find it in your heart to help:

1. Help me decide what I want to do this year. I mean, I really have no idea. Perhaps that’s why my blog has spent more than 40 days in the internet desert. What’s my calling for 2011?

2. Please help me to stay on track for the sub-4-hour marathon. Working with the running group again has been really, really, really hard, and my weight-loss has stalled.  Don’t you think you should help? After all, it is kind of your fault for insisting people feast on your birthday…and, let’s face it, eating on that scale requires training, which explains the previous three weeks.

3. Please help the less fortunate. Those with not enough, those in war zones, kids without love. People with real problems. Oh, and, if you can be bothered, please spare a thought for Lindsay Lohan.  I mean, really.

4. And please, please, please stop the dreams. Seriously, making me run the Toronto marathon in rain boots, through a blizzard, whilst being heckled by taffeta-bridesmaid-dress-wearing-pretty-mean-girls from university is not cool.

So that’s it. Now this is written, I’m already feeling a little better. Maybe a little miracle in itself.

Amen.

Dear readers, please accept my apology for the lack of updates lately. Even cowgirls get the blues.
