With runners from six countries attending, it’s safe to say my race is a destination race
The race has sold out... for the fifth year in a row!
It’s both exciting and stressful watching the numbers steadily climb until we sell out. For the last month, I’ve kept the registration software open in a browser and obsessively pressed refresh multiple times a day. There’s a massive weight lifted off a race director’s shoulders the second race registration is closed.

I’m thrilled that for the fifth year in a row, we’ve sold-out. Reviewing the registration list, I notice a number of seasoned pirates returning. About 76 per cent of participants come from Nova Scotia, representing communities from all over our province.
As Nova Scotia’s Destination Race, we attract runners from around the globe. I’m excited to see that our out-of-province participation has reached 24 per cent (up three per cent in only one year). Word is spreading. Runners from six countries will be at the race: Canada, USA, France, Germany, Great Britain and Australia.
The biggest bump in registration was from Newfoundland, increasing from 18 runners last year to 102 this year. With so many Newfoundlanders at the event, I will say that the after party will be legendary. I can’t wait!
