Ciele Athletics’ premium Elite line is perfect for late summer or indoor running

As the weather cools, you may be scrambling to find appropriate clothing. But don’t stash your split shorts and tanks away just yet–there will be plenty of opportunities to use them on warm, late-summer days, or when the weather drives you into the gym or onto the treadmill. With this in mind, the popular Montreal-based hat and apparel company Ciele Athletics has launched Elite, a premium running collection for the discerning runner, which, unlike even the best among us, has no bad days–it puts in a top-notch performance with every outing.

The line includes colourful, UV-protective and quick-drying short-sleeve shirts and singlets, two styles of shorts, plus a lightweight, breathable, waterproof jacket for men and women, as well as a running bra. The brand’s extensive use of advanced technical fabrics and construction techniques emphasize comfort and add up to pieces that just work extremely well, and that you don’t have to think about once they’re on. (And as any runner can attest, the longer you’re out there, the more important this becomes.) 

The line features Ciele’s new, proprietary COOLmatic fabrics, which are exceptionally breathable, quick-drying and combat odour.

We enjoyed the pieces’ free-flowing comfort on city runs of varying lengths. They fit well, and we appreciated the softness of the fabric, the breathability (which is enhanced by mesh panels in the singlet and the short-sleeve), and the absence of seams in the shorts.

We found the bra fit a little small, and we would have preferred a style with a back closure, but recognize that this is personal and subjective.

Ciele Athletics launched in 2014 with branded running hats that quickly became (and remain) de rigeur among runners and endurance athletes. Earlier this year, the brand partnered with Salomon to produce a limited edition of its Pulsar Trail Pro and Phantasm shoe models.
