Fashion-forward brand designs hybrid work and running shoe
This new sneaker might just be the mullet of running shoes

In the world of footwear, every brand in the running market wants a shoe they can do absolutely everything in. A new Chinese shoe company, Remagine, designed a hybrid shoe that breaks the status quo. If you have a meeting at four and need to make it to your run club by five, Remagine blended the sophistication of a business dress shoe with the performance of a running sneaker with their debut shoe, the Starting Blocks.
The forefoot is an elegant suede dress shoe, while the back and heel counter takes inspiration from the athletic world, featuring the heel and midsole of the renowned Asics Gel-Keyano 13. This hybrid running shoe is like a mullet—business in the front, and party in the back. The front is as sophisticated as it gets, but the back screams heel striking a 10K to a personal best.
The shoe’s name, Starting Blocks, was inspired by the starting blocks in track and field. When the athletes typically enter the starting blocks, they are in a state of readiness and anticipation but have not yet set off. Their brains are tense, excited and focused, waiting for the sound of the gun. The name of the brand, Remagine, comes from combining “remember” and “imagine,” which represents the company’s vision to intertwine tradition with forward-thinking modern designs.
If you are wanting to run fast in Remagine’s Starting Blocks, they are far from light. The shoe is crafted with heavier materials like cowhide, mesh, microfibre, EVA foam, and a complete rubberized outsole. Even though they blend two completely different types of shoes, Remagine swears on the durability of the Starting Blocks.
According to their website, the shoe fits true to size and accommodates various foot shapes—only starting at USD $300. The shoes are specifically designed for individuals who understand that life isn’t one-dimensional, saying that their footwear should also not be.
In a world constantly pushing boundaries and limits, the Starting Blocks is a “formal handshake into a hug” between fashion and functionality.
