REVIEW: On Running’s newest tops

Two running pieces you need in your summer workout wardrobe

Stylish and functional, both the On Running Active Tank and the Active T Breathe have been designed to accompany your everyday activity needs. On Running’s clothing is made with style in mind, so runners who like versatile pieces can get a lot done in one article of gear. Here’s a look at two new pieces from On that warm-weather runners will want in their wardrobe.

On Active Tank – MRSP $59.99 CAD

Together with the gently hugging material, the Active Tank’s high neckline keeps the shirt in place during your workout. Similarly, the top’s elegant open back makes it a great option for everyday wear and provides good ventilation during workouts, while the quick-drying fabric adds to the overall comfort.

Efficiently wicking the moisture to keep you cool, the white colour option does have a tendency to become a little see-through during runs, but the Active Tank is also available in Ivy if you want a darker colour. I didn’t find the transparency very noticeable, and given the cooling design features, it’s a great option for runners that want to stay covered and cool. With that said, I’m comfortable running in a crop top or sports bra when the temperatures spike, so I may not be as sensitive as some. On a similar note, any post-run sweat marks came out immediately, even in a cold wash, and the anti-odour properties in the material ensured the Active Tank stayed fresh use after use. This top quickly became a favourite option and I have worn the Active Tank a lot for both running and casual wear.

Light, soft and comfortable, the stretch in the fabric encourages freedom to move, which makes the Active Tank a great option for yoga or strength training as well.

On Active T Breathe – MSRP $69.99

Like the Active Tank, On Running’s Active T Breathe is designed with style and performance in mind. The material is made from eucalyptus wood, which helps balance temperature and moisture control when you’re working out.

A little shorter in the length than the tank, the Active T Breathe has a slightly more box-cut shape, with a pleated back to allow for more airflow during workouts. On Running has put a lot of thought into material, and their choices successfully keep any unwanted smells at bay, while maintaining the shape and style. The Active T Breathe looks and feels good as new after multiple runs and subsequent washes.

The Active T Breathe is also available in two colours and could easily be worn casually, making it the perfect choice for runners on the go.
