The Brooks PureFlow 5 are lightweight shoes perfect for those runners who are fond of the minimal trend and like the feel of a lighter shoe but are looking for just a bit more structure and support. The Brooks PureFlow 5 gives runners that in a shoe that is best worn for runs on the road or track.

This model is defined as a neutral shoe and is updated from its predecessor with a new midsole material– the DNA LT. That cushioning material is updated to minimize impact but adapt to a runner’s pace, being softer for slower runs and firming up when the pace increases. Another notable feature in the sole: the rounded heel. That’s something Brooks has included in the design to better alignment and to minimize impact. Overall, runners need to know that these soles are durable. They will carry you through tough runs and should stay good through about 250 to 300 miles.

As for the upper, this one is pretty much as comfortable as they come. Brooks is using 3D printing in their production and the result is a nice fitting, no-sew upper that hugs the foot nicely. By not including stitching in the upper, Brooks has eliminated uncomfortable pressure points or blister-causing seams. The upper will fit on smooth like a glove and its sponge-like tongue gives extra padding to prevent pressure on the tops of the feet.

When it comes to aesthetics, the PureFlow 5s come in simple colour schemes that will match anything but include a star printed upper for extra detail. For runners looking for comfort and support as well as style, these shoes are a good pick.
