The Brooks Glycerin has been one of the running industry’s most consistent shoes over the years, known for its cushioning and ride, and the Glycerin 13 is no exception. The Glycerin 13 is a neutral shoe that offers premium cushioning for runners and is ideal for those with medium to high arches.

The women’s version featuring Brooks’ 3D  Fit Print.

The Glycerin 13, which was released this summer, includes all the previous features with the 2015-2016 model also boasting a number of new updates.

One of the bolder updates is the 3D Fit Print technology, an overlay across the top of the shoe designed for structure and a snug fit. The award-winning shoe also has a rounded heel helping align the foot with the ground.

The segmented crash-pad, shaped like a caterpillar visible along the shoe’s outer edge, is also a striking feature. The technology consists of shock absorbers that act as additional cushion and stability. On each impact, the segmented pads work to independently lay down providing the right amount of cushion as the foot transitions to takeoff. Our testers did note this difference and said the Glycerin’s sole felt springy after push-off.

Our staff writers also  tested it on the roads, through the trails and in the rain, with the shoe performing well in all elements thanks to its breathability and responsiveness. The Glycerin 13 is a strong pick for an everyday neutral cushioned trainer.
