The men’s 800m is basically a re-run of the Monaco Diamond League, where Arop ran a new personal best last Friday of 1:44.14 to grab the podium finish. He will once again face world-leading Donavan Brazier and multi-time Diamond League champion Ferguson Rotich. Arop is inching closer and closer to Brandon McBride’s national record of 1:43.20, which he set in 2018.

Arop stunned fans at the 2018 national championships when he took the title over McBride. He went on the make the World Championship final in 2019 and his career has continued to flourish is 2020.
