Hurdle-pocalypse post-men’s 110m hurdles at the Canadian Championships

There was quite a scene at the end of the men’s 110m hurdles final at the 2017 Canadian Track and Field Championships.

The track was littered with barriers as athletes brushed the hurdles as they made their way through the 110m sprint at Terry Fox Facility in Ottawa. Athletes are not penalized for accidentally knocking down hurdles.

Johnathan Cabral won the event in 13.61 over local Ottawa native Sekou Kaba and Olympic bronze medallist Damian Warner. The 2016 Rio Olympic finalist required medical assistance after going down hard following the last hurdle and was seen grabbing his hamstring.

Cabral was not able to attend the medal ceremony shortly after the conclusion of the event. The extent of his injury is unknown. Check out these Canadian Running trackside photos from the Saturday evening sprint hurdles.
