Aaron Brown and partner welcome baby boy

Kingsley Nico Brown, the couple's first child, was born on January 26

Aaron Brown anchors the men's 4x100m to what he believed was a gold medal. The team was later disqualified.

On Friday afternoon, Canadian Olympic sprinter Aaron Brown announced that his wife, Preeya Milburn, gave birth to their son, Kingsley Nico Brown, a week ago. Kingsley was born on January 26, and is the couple’s first child. Brown and his wife announced they were expecting last August, calling it a ‘silver lining’ in what has been ‘a crazy year.’

The couple tied the knot just under a year ago in February 2020 after announcing their engagement the previous August, and now they have added one more member to their little family. Brown is one of Canada’s best 100m and 200m runners, and won the bronze medal in the 4x100m relay at the 2016 Olympics. He is also the 100m national champion, having outrun fellow track star Andre De Grasse at the national championships back in 2019.

2020 was a difficult year, and the future of track in 2021 is still shaky, but the birth of his first child is certainly a beautiful way for Brown and his wife to start the year.
