Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on Thursday that he reached his 2016 mileage goal by running 365 miles (587 kilometres). Now he's moving onto triathlon, but has had a tougher time on the bike.

The co-founder and CEO of Facebook has already achieved his mileage goal for the year completing his resolution in less than seven months. Mark Zuckerberg wanted to run 365 miles (587 kilometres) for 2016 but admitted on Thursday that running has been “more fun than I expected.”

“I’ve found running is a great way to clear my head, to get more energy and to find time to think about challenges I’m working through at Facebook and our philanthropy,” says Zuckerberg. “When I’m traveling, running is a great way to explore a new city and kick jet lag before a packed day of meetings.”

His New Year’s resolution that has turned into a community challenge, known as the Year of Running, includes more than 127,000 members on Facebook. The challenge involves running one mile for each day of the year though he didn’t take 2016 being a leap year into account.

Zuckerberg launched the social media platform in 2004 and is now worth an estimated USD$35 billion.

According to his Facebook post, Zuckerberg’s fastest mile this year is a 5:58. He’s continually ramped up his running to the point where he can “go out and run 20 miles [32K] on a Sunday morning and feel pretty good.”

Zuckerberg, 32, admits his next challenge is to do a triathlon but he broke his arm riding his bike so he will have to make due with running to stay fit for the time being.

“Triathlon training is slow so far,” says Zuckerberg. “After getting a road bike, on my first ride I forgot to unclip my feet from the pedals, fell over, and broke my arm. It’s not bad, but I can’t bike or swim for a few months, so I’m back to running.”
