HELP WANTED: Achilles Canada desperately seeks running guides

Achilles Canada has put out an urgent call for running and triathlon guides to assist disabled athletes from across the country with their training sessions and upcoming races.

Achilles Canada has put out an urgent call for running and triathlon guides to assist disabled athletes from across the country with their training sessions and upcoming races.

Runners and triathletes who are interested in helping out can get in touch with Achilles Canada president Brian McLean at bmclean@achillescanada.ca.

Some of the guiding opportunities include:

1.  Maya in downtown Toronto is looking for some fast runners who can run a 5-minute kilometre pace and sprint at 4:00/km for distances of up to 18K during the week.

2.  Leona in Ottawa is participating in the upcoming Toronto Triathlon Festivals on July 21 and is seeking a female guide for the sprint distance to able to swim, cycle and run in a time of 1:30. All equipment will be provided, including a tandem bike.

3.  Dave from the East Coast is also doing the Toronto Triathlon Festivals and needs a male guide (tall and strong) to be able to swim, cycle and run the sprint distance. All equipment will be provided, including a tandem bike.

4.  Darrell from Ottawa is looking for a guide runner for the Ottawa Army Run Half-Marathon on September 22 in a time of 1:50.

5.  Susan from London, Ont. is in desperate need of running guides to help her get started with her new running goals.
