PHOTOS: Home renovation transforms basement into a running oasis
While sidelined with an injury, time was well wasted for this runner as he transformed his basement into a running-themed hangout spot
The running version of the ideal hangout spot, complete with an LCD TV, a track surface, and motivational quotes
As bad as running injuries may be, time away from the sport allows runners to channel their energy into other things, like side projects. Or extravagant home renovations.
A calf injury kept Mike Padilla sidelined for a month so the runner decided to get creative during his time off. Padilla transformed the family basement into a runner’s paradise.
The basement’s entirety was posted on the family’s blog, Classy Mommy.

Complete with murals of Nike athletes, including Mo Farah and Galen Rupp, this basement should never fail at motivating Padilla and his family to stay active.

The only downside of the basement renovation: The project cost a cool $10,285. If you have that kind of cash laying around, this running paradise could be your’s.
