Bomb found during small Ontario charity run
An unsettling scene unfolded in a small Ontario town on Saturday at a local fundraising run.
The bomb squad was called in to the town of Lindsay. The device was discovered in the downtown area while a run was taking place at around 10:30 a.m.
Residents and businesses in the area were evacuated and the police detonated what they described as a “pipe bomb like device.” The police are now testing the exploded materials, which were inside a bag that was left behind a store.
Residents were allowed back into their homes on Saturday night.
