Some quick and speedy runners put on quite the show in Montreal this morning as they battled it out on the course of the Montreal Half-Marathon.
Most note-worthy of today’s performances was Vancouver elite Dayna Pidhoresky’s first-place run. Pidhoresky broke the tape of the women’s race in 1:13:43 with nearly a two minute lead on the runner up: Lioudmila Kortchaguina. This win at the Montreal event comes within six months of Pidhoresky’s marathon debut. She ran in Toronto at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon to place third in her first-ever crack at 42.2K running a 2:40:38 debut. Today, she bested the rest of the elite women showing that she’s one to keep an eye on at top Canadian races going forward.
Kortchaguina took the second spot in 1:15:37 and Arianne Raby wound up in the top three with her 1:15:52 half-marathon.

Conditions on the course in Montreal today were bright and sunny and a touch on the warm side with the mercury hovering at 12 C.
