Jamie McDonald attacked in Banff
Jamie McDonald, who has been running across Canada to raise money for children’s hospitals, was attacked and beaten up early on the morning of Jan. 1 in Banff, Alt., during new year celebrations.
The British man was jumped when he was moving from the street into an apartment building and left his bag behind, thinking it had been stolen. It contained all his valuables for his trip across the country and asked his Twitter followers to help him find the bag and have it returned. He is safe and suffered no major injuries.
The 27-year-old spent the first day of 2014 speaking with police and and trying to track down his valuables, which included his wallet and passport. The bag was found and returned to him today.
This is a call out, anyone in #Banff, hand over a bag that is the difference in changing this world. Thank you so much!

McDonald says he was not attacked at Earl’s Restaurant, where he has been staying, and thanked them for the hospitality.
Canadian Running has been following McDonald’s journey as he runs across Canada for charity and he was named our 2013 Golden Shoe runner of the year.
So far McDonald has raised over $100,000 from Canadian donors and nearly $40,000 from British donors.
