Michigan rap-rock-country singer Kid Rock will kick off this year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon, Competitor Group announced today.

“Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas has become one of the most anticipated running events of the year and nothing says Rock ‘n’ Roll like a Kid Rock concert in Las Vegas,” said race series president Josh Furlow “With the energy of running down the Las Vegas Strip at night and to have a true rock star like Kid Rock take over the main stage, this is guaranteed to be an unforgettable event runners won’t want to miss.”

Some of Kid Rock’s biggest hits include “Cowboy,” “Bawitdaba,” and “All Summer Long.” He’ll perform Sunday, Nov. 15, before the start of the marathon and half-marathon. A headlining act for the 5K on Saturday, one day before, is yet to be announced.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll race series all host concerts alongside the races with the Las Vegas event often showcasing some of the top talent. Last year rap artist Snoop Dogg was scheduled to perform was dropped out at the last minute, only to be replaced by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas weekend will begin on Thursday, Nov. 12 with the health and fitness expo and runs until Sunday evening.
