It was a brisk morning for runners racing the Toronto Yonge Street 10K this morning. The race started at 9:00 a.m. in 6 C temperatures with a wind.

First in the men’s race was Eric Gillis who ran 29:15. Behind him  was Matt Loiselle finishing in 29:34. Third place was Lamont Marshall running 29:49. Gillis won the Harry’s Spring Run-Off on Easter weekend. Though the spring goal was to race Rotterdam, tendonitis held him back. He had his eye on today’s race though and proved to be in fit race condition.

The women’s race was headed by the speedy Lanni Marchant who set a new PB today. She finished with a time of 31:48. Following her was Tarah Korir (32:56) and Lioudmila Kortchaguina who ran the 10K in 33:42. To view full results, click here.

The Toronto Yonge Street 10K typically hosts 6,000 runners and is known as a PB course since it’s a downhill course with hardly any tough sections. Runners start at Yonge and Castlefield and follow Toronto’s well-known Yonge Street down to the finish at Fort York.
