Whistler Half Marathon in pictures

Whistler

The North Face Whistler Half Marathon is one of the most beautiful races in Canada. Over 850 runners were lucky to compete in sunny weather with clear skies, Saturday.

The race started just before 8:00 a.m. local time. Runners also had the option to race a 10K or 1K course. Those who ran the half were taken on a scenic route designed to give a full tour of Whistler running through the village and taking runners to Alta Lake.

The first two finishers were well ahead of the pack with Jim Finlayson finishing first running a 1:11:14. Behind him was Arya Bahreini running 1:12:25. Duncan Marsden placed third in 1:20:27.

In the women’s race, Marilyn Arsenault was first to the finish running a time of 1:21:46. In second was Care Nelson (1:26:15) and Stephanie Hamilton (1:26:42).

Spectators and runners took some stunning shots of the event. If you couldn’t make it or are thinking of doing it next year, these will give you a feel for what the race was like.
