Think you’re tough enough to tackle a trail run? Try doing it while being chased by zombies.

Nova Scotia is getting its first zombie-themed adventure run on Sunday, Sept. 28 with the 5KM Zombie Trail Run in Waverly, N.S. Registration is now open, with early-bird prices set to expire on June 30.

The run, organized by Inner Strength Taekwondo Parent’s Association, and sponsored by  Spookle Haunted House Services and The Running Room, will put runners to the test as they outrun zombies and other creatures. Each participant is given three flags, and if they make it to the end with at least one flag, they become “survivors.”

According to race organizers, the funds will help defray the cost to bring a Taekwondo Competition Team to the Nationals in 2014.

The first 500 people to register get a free t-shirt. Learn more at the 5KM Zombie Trail Run website or on their Facebook page.
