Runners into their 100s competed at the 2018 USATF Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend.
The men’s 90-104 60m was particularly entertaining as USATF, the governing body for athletics in the United States, shared footage of the sprint. More than one million people have watched the footage so far on Twitter.
The runner you see blast out the blocks was 90-year-old Edward Cox, who clocked 11.73.
Further back, 100-year-old Orville Rogers set a new age group world record in 19.13.
In the women’s 80-104 60m, 102-year-old, Julia “Hurricane” Hawkins, as USATF calls her, set an age group world record herself timing in at 24.79. She was the oldest competitor at the championships.
