Want to test the waters with a cross-country (XC) race this fall (or late summer)?
Even if your student days are well behind you, you can still take part. If you’re not in high school or university, divisions which many cross-country events cater to, there are plenty of options in Canada for open off-road racing. Mud, hills, rolling terrain, cross-country has it all, with distances typically somewhere between 5-10K.
The window for cross-country is quite small, typically mid-September to early-November while road running is largely year-round.
The list, in chronological order, includes races classified as cross-country events for all-comers, not including, for the most part, collegiate-, high school- or primary school-specific races. Some invitationals with open sections are included.
